NatHERS (Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme) is a star rating system that rates the energy efficiency of a home based on its design. The rating ranges from 0 to 10 stars, with higher ratings indicating better thermal performance. Most new homes in Australia are required to achieve a minimum 7-star NatHERS rating under the National Construction Code.
Under the NCC 2022 energy efficiency provisions, most new homes require a minimum 7-star NatHERS rating. However, requirements can vary by state and local council.
